Welcome Leaders!!

I've been hard at work, behind the scenes, on all things MOPS for next year!! I've been recruiting new leaders, and I'm happy to say we have gained a few new mamas. Please say hi to Lesley, Lisa, Gabrielle, in addition to Stacey and I from last year! I also have signed up a couple others to help out with some jobs, and I am just overall, excited for next year! I'm hoping it to be a really great year, with lots of moms in attendance, and a blessing to all involved!

Monkey Bread Recipe

I combined 2 recipes (This one with this one), but this is what I did: 2 cans of grands biscuits (I used homestyle), cut into 4ths. Mixed 3/4c brown sugar, 1t cinnamon, and threw in a little white sugar too (maybe 1/8c). Mix the sugars and cinnamon, and dump it onto the cut biscuits, and mix them until they are all coated. Mix 1/2c melted butter and 1/2c pancake syrup (any kind, I used Aunt Jemima), pour half into your pan (the recipes call for a bundt pan that I don't have, I used a square bakers stone). Put sugar covered biscuits in, as flat a layer as you can, and top with leftover sugars and butter/syrup mix. Bake at 350, for approx 25-35 mins (mine's in the oven at the moment, set for 25 mins, and will go from there, recipes all called for longer). Turn out of your pan. (OH, if you are not using a stone, you need to grease your pan first, too.)

A New MOPS Year! 2012-2013

Welcome to the new MOPS blog! Just another way to stay informed and connected! I am looking forward to the new year, and hoping for some good improvements in many areas.

First things first....leadership! MOPS just doesn't run as well without dedicated leaders who put in their volunteer time. And we are looking for new leaders, and more helpers, for the next year! We are always needing the help, and have many jobs available...big and small, prominent and behind-the-scenes. I'm sure there's something for you, if you are interested in helping out!!

There will be a leadership informational meeting on Thursday, June 21st, 6-7pm at Moxie Java in Mountain Home. Anyone interested in helping out, in any capacity, is welcome to attend! Our first major thing on the agenda will be publicity and recruitment this summer, so we're starting early. And if you can't make the meeting, it does not mean you can't help in some way...just let me know!

We had a great year at MOPS!! We hope you have enjoyed it too! This survey is very important, and we would really appreciate your feedback...we are looking to possibly change things up for next year, and need your input if that would be for the better, or if we should keep things more the way they are. Please please think about your experiences, and get back to us! All responses will be confidential, and can be kept anonymous if you would like. :) If you REALLY do not want to do the survey, please just reply this back, empty, so that we know you are getting emails. We are having some issues with some moms not getting emails, when they should...and would like to see who is, who isn't, and who we need to check on. If you do not respond at all, your email will be deleted from the email list, to reorganize and cleanup for next year. Thanks so much!!

I am considering switching up the meetings a bit...extending them to 2 hours, and doing a series of events, the same way at each meeting (for example: we'd open and fellowship with food, do a MOPS activity, have discussion or a speaker, and a craft...at every meeting). Is this something that sounds good to you, or would you like to keep it the same as it has been (open and fellowship with food, and then one or two activities/events/speakers, almost always different at each meeting).

5. Do you feel our MOPPETTS (childcare) is up to standards for your children? Any input on this, or suggestions?

6. Is there anything else you would like to see, that we did not do?

June Summer Fun

I was thinking of planning a fun/family activity, would anyone be interested?? I was thinking bowling or something? And I would need to know what day of the week would work for you.

So, a Monday/Tuesday/Friday/Saturday night?
And:

• Bowling
• Evening Park Playdate
• A fun park in Boise (like Settler's Park, or the waterfountain/splash pad in downtown Boise)
• Another idea?? (please comment)
